Stories of bottled water, hand wipes and disinfectant disappearing from store shelves and the resurgence of canned good purchases are in the headlines as concerns of a pandemic spread from one continent to another, and now is in our “back yard.” With the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus in the U.S., a sense of urgency has grabbed the attention of the public … and rightfully so. But perhaps we need to slow down a minute and recognize how this virus is actually transmitted. Above all, stay calm and wash your hands!
This issue of The AgriNutrition Edge Report looks at hand washing guidelines for personal health and food preparation safety. It also includes resources for “springing forward” in the kitchen during National Nutrition Month, including a challenge to eat a variety of foods, try a new cooking skill or experiment with new recipes. Most of all National Nutrition Month is a call to come back to the table and really enjoy our food!
