August 2024: Should We “Press Pause” on Processed Foods?

While August is a transition time for new academic years and anticipated fall sport seasons, it’s still summer! With farmer’s markets in full swing, it’s time to think about preserving the summer bounty for enjoyment over the coming months. And yes, preserving is processing — a word that tends to raise concerns beyond reality. Speaking of concerns, current consumer surveys reflect increased concerns about the safety of our food supply.
