But as the ground dries and the crops are planted, we celebrate the warmth of summer and yet, face the challenges of anti-science sirens! Science research is the core of our existence regardless of our location. From the water management technology and plant breeding mecca we viewed in the Netherlands last month to addressing common food and nutrition misinformation, the value of science research is evident; but only if we can sift the facts from fallacies. To dive deeper, check out my blog “Is Science On My Side?” And to add a little “spice” to the subject, explore the science behind the theory of terroir — the sense of place and environment infused in some of our beloved artisan foods. There is a “taste of place” in every bite.
